SECOND WIND! by Joey Rocha

“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” (Acts 2:2)

In deep prayer crying out to God in the midst of the fire . . .

I saw a vision of a sailing ship on troubled waters. The men aboard the ship looked exhausted, they where stuck in the middle of the sea in great despair because the journey to get to their destination had been so long and arduous. Their sails were lowered and they were despondent on the brink of giving up. Many were Prophets and other five fold ministry leaders. Then suddenly a rushing mighty wind began to blow! The men became very excited and began to hoist the sails. As the sails caught the wind the ship began to move at an accelerated speed. Then I heard the words,

“Second Wind”

I sense that there are many who have been fighting the good fight with God yet still find themselves in troubled waters. You have been given a dream from God, He has started a good work in you but in the pursuit of your destiny the seas have become rough and you have become wearied. As the days, months and even years have passed by hope has dimmed. The journey has been longer and harder then expected. It seems you have lost any forward momentum. Despondent you find yourself stuck, half-way-there, at end of your rope. Feeling as though life has passed you by, discouragement has found a lodging place in your heart and you are ready to give up.

If this is you, be encouraged! I hear a sound coming from heaven!

There’s a wind a blowin!

When Jesus had said this, He breathed on them. He said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”  (John 20:22)

The wind is Holy Spirit.

The word Spirit means breath or wind, so that the Holy Spirit could literally be called the wind or breathe of God. God has not forgotten you! When the disciples were on the boat to Capernaum and the seas grew rough the bible says –

“they were eager to let him in the boat, and immediately they arrived at their destination!” (John 6:21)

You are not going miss or be late for your destination because the Lord is about to show up in your circumstance. He is about to board your boat and breathe a SECOND WIND, which will not only launch you again but actually accelerate your forward motion causing a make up for lost progress collimating in a finished work of God which will cause you to arrive at your destination . . .

There’s a wind a blowin!

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)

Having a second wind is very real. The idiom – second wind, refers to having – restored energy or strength a renewed ability to continue an effort.

Runners describe the feeling of a second wind as one of renewed vigor, increased confidence and less-strenuous breathing. They have no idea where it comes from but most report that it usually comes – just as they were starting to feel overwhelmed by fatigue!

Feeling overwhelmed? Have you been in a season of the refiner’s fire persevering through many trials, tribulations and hardships only to find yourself stuck in the same place or seemingly going backwards? Or maybe the enemy has had the upper hand in this last season? Well incline your ear to hear because,

There’s a wind a blowin!

“As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the LORD has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.” (2 Samuel 5:4)

Do you hear the sound? The wind is actually a sign that God himself is going before you to strike down your enemy! For those of you that find yourselves overwhelmed seemingly at the end of your rope, the word of the Lord is,

“Take hold of your rope and hoist the sails! For I am about to breathe a second wind!”

To hoist means – to raise or lift up

In order to harness the power of the wind we must first lift up our voice in praise because God inhabits the praise of his people. God is sending you the help you need (John 14:16). As you enter into the secret place with God. Holy Spirit will meet you there. Like the wind, He will breathe new life into your situation. He will exchange your weariness for rest. As you encounter the LOVE OF GOD afresh again you will be strengthened anew for the remainder of your journey. God’s love never fails! Also it is in that place of rest that the most ironic of all things takes place – acceleration! Because Holy Spirit is the wind! You will find that in this next season as you allow yourself to be caught up in the breathe of God, the wind of his Spirit will propel you effortlessly toward your destination. What you could not accomplish in your own strength God will accomplished by His breath.

There’s a wind a blowin!

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Helper will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” (John 16:7)

I know for myself and maybe some of you can relate that I often feel a very long way from where I want to be spiritually. I’m reminded of my flaws in life’s daily routines and hardships and oftentimes just feel stuck. In these times I am reminded of seeing paintings of Jesus holding his sheep or little children in his arms comforting them and even carrying them. But the truth is that Jesus went away. Why did Jesus go away? It was too send us a Helper, someone to carry us through life’s storms. Who is that helper? Holy Spirit! The very breathe of God, the wind who has come to carry you!

There’s a wind a blowin!

“…the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” (Genesis 1:2)

We are in a transitional season. God is preparing his people for new beginnings and an end time harvest. Transitional times can be tough to navigate. Sometimes we need guidance along the way. The Holy Spirit moves to create order out of chaos. So if you find yourself stuck in dark waters, hoist up the sail of praise and allow the wind of God to move you again. When you allow Holy Spirit to breathe on you he will cause renewed vigor, increased confidence and less-strenuous breathing. Let the wind navigate you as,

Holy Spirit is your compass on your journey to destiny!

There’s a wind a blowin!

Do you hear the sound? It’s time to get up and shake off despair because God’s love never fails! Let us incline our ears to the prophetic word and hoist our sails again because,

There’s a rushing mighty wind a blowin!

We see that rushing mighty wind in the opening scripture (Acts 2:2). The number two means second or double. There is a former rain but there is also a latter rain. So, if you find yourself wearied from the long journey after the first wind, be encouraged, help is on the way, lift up your voice in praise, be filled with the Spirit and prepare to catch the . . .

Second Wind!
