“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
My sister lives in New England. Every morning she walks her dog in the woods by her home. One morning while on her walk, she was talking with God about some troubling circumstances. As she prayed she noticed a heart shape image formed on a root of a tree in the ground. As she looked at the image she heard the Lord say,
“Stay rooted in love!”
She took a picture of it, which is the picture you see here.
We live in troubling times. Even with the positive changes we have seen lately: our world, our country, our families and even our own souls seem troubled. We see a world desperately crying out for love, a country deeply divided, families in chaos and souls afflicted with an ongoing war between flesh and spirit. We are indeed, hard pressed on every side. Our problems and our difficulties with other people seem to all stem from a lack of love. The word even says that in the end times,
“because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold” (Matthew 12:24)
So what is the solution? How do we navigate such times? How do we deal with difficult people and troubling circumstances? Well the answer is always – love. For the bible tells us that –
“Love never fails.”
(1 Corinthians 13:8)
Yet we seem to consistently fail in our loving. Why is that? Why at times does it seem so hard to love?
I believe my sister received a revelation on how to navigate these times. You see there are really only two choices. We can choose God and form a love root or we can choose self and form a bitter root.
The fruit of the tree reveals its root.
We must be deeply rooted in love. This may sound strange but the truth is we are not here to – learn how to love. We are here to manifest love. In order to do that, we must step into our identity as Sons and Daughters of God. Because
God is love.
So when we live from who we really in are God and draw from the root we will manifest love effortlessly! The key is to stay rooted in love! We must not strive to love. Instead we must be filled with the fullness of God. By doing so we actually become love!
When we behold Him we become like Him. You are from the Father from whom every family is named! You are His child. That my friend is who you really are! If you are His child that means you carry all His characteristics, you are love! The devil in contrast carries a bitter root against God. That is why the Pharisee’s where never able to love, because they were the children of their Father (John 8:44). However you don’t need to strive to love because you are a child of your Father God and love is already the fruit of your root! That’s why we must draw strength and power through his Spirit from our inner being. Love is not something that’s contrived from the outside. Love is an inside job! It comes from the root!
Sometimes on our walk with God, like my sister on her walk in the woods, we need to be reminded of who we really are. It’s not what we do, it’s who we are that matters! So I want to encourage you, the next time you face a difficult person or troubling circumstance, dig deep into the well that is already there. You will find ample supply. It’s your inheritance! Love never fails.
The heart of God is in the root, so simply remain,
Rooted in Love ~
